I really like this little radio. For $15, I’m very happy.Even without batteries, it has a nice bit of weight. Enough that it doesn’t feel like cheap junk. When you crank the volume, the 2 inch speaker can get surprisingly loud. I’d say the speaker accounts for a lot of the unit’s weight, just look the picture I included. The USB and SD playback are only okay, as it just plays files sequentially, but most people will probably use the Bluetooth, which has nice range. The radio works alright, but I decided to put a bigger antenna on, which required a soldering iron.It has the option for USB power, but it’s a Mini USB port, which is the only real problem I have with this radio. I like to just use rechargeable batteries, so I can swap them whenever. I don’t know if the radio can charge AA batteries, but I doubt it. Better to use a dedicated battery charger anyway.I bought this because I wanted something better than my laptop speakers, and but I think it will get used a lot more than that.

Great little radio! It’s quite compact, but has surprisingly decent sound quality. I bought this to use while camping (Bluetooth and FM) and for the FM broadcast at my local drive-in movie theater. With the external antenna, it seems to do okay picking up weaker signals. I only use the FM function, so can’t comment on the shortwave or AM reception.I especially like the simplicity. With basic dials for volume and tuning, there are no complicated digital menus to navigate just to search for a station. The rechargeable battery is easily replaceable down the road, and uses a common cell phone battery. There are only two minor drawbacks that kept me from giving 5 stars:1) The recharge port uses a mini USB connector. None of my other gizmos use this, so this is one more cord (included) to carry. Not a huge deal, but I wish it has a micro USB port like my tablet and other devices.2) I wish the radio had an indicator to show when recharging is complete. There’s a light to show when recharging is in progress, but not when complete. Those are minor drawbacks, to be sure. This radio is a great value.

It’s an ok SW radio, better than most DSP based small radios, but it’s limited frequency range is puzzling considering most other analog display DSP radios cover at least 3 out of the 5 time standard frequencies. I’m probably the rare bird here, but I don’t have any use for the BT feature. What I’m really disappointed in is the lack of selectivity to pick up weak AM stations on this model, sure if you only listen to clear channel AM stations, it will most likely work fine for you, but I’m less of a conformist when it comes to the narrowing choices available for the casual listener on AM or FM dial stations for that matter, what matters most to me is if a radio can perform without causing unnecessary audio stress from excessive EMI or internal interference from incompatible DSP circuit pairings.Granted some models appear to be trying to fix a lot of the early DSP flaws, whiles others do not seem to think making a quality product is the end game unless you’re a manufacturer that’s catering to people who can afford high-end, (read “high over-priced”) DSP radios, sometimes you can only avoid most interference by stepping outside your residence and trying to pick up stations there, (just to make sure the radio works somewhat according to the listed frequency range it’s designed to receive).Personally, I prefer the XHDATA D-328 model as it has all the features of the SC-1080BT, (except for the BT and the ability to run off of 3 AA batteries as a power back-up like the SC-1080BT) but the D-328 has the same AM problem, but FM/SW reception is flawless on the D-328 as it covers all but the lowest and highest time standard frequencies. And the cost of the XHDATA D-328 is close to the price of the SC-1080BT, but in my opinion, the Smaller D-328 sounds better than the supersonic SC-1080BT.

UPDATE! The Bluetooth functionality works very nicely, it allows me to watch movies in my iPad and I port the sound to the radio via Bluetooth, very cool feature! Also – Although there is no feature that identifies when the battery is fully charged I just plug it in for 4 hours to charge it. I charged it for 4 hours and then unplugged the charger, so far the radio has played for almost 3 hours on that Little rechargeable cell phone battery it came with, Very impressed as the directions suggested it would only Play for an hour off the battery – very impressive little unit and I sure hope it lasts!I just wanted a small, portable, battery powered radio and I didn’t want to spend over $20.I must say I’m very impressed with this little unit.It looks sharp and contemporary and has really nice sound for how small it is.Comes with rechargeable battery, USB power cord and typical Chinese instructions. You can run off the supplied rechargeable battery or use three AA batteries, that’s a nice option.Have not tried the shortwave channels and honestly wasn’t interested in that feature at all, just happened tocome with the radio so that’s a bonus as well. All in all I consider this a very nice value for the money.Like many of you I rely highly on Amazon Reviews when making my selection so now I sayit’s five out of five stars and will update the review if I encounter any issues.

This is great little radio that does many functions very well. Although a small radio, it will fill a room with crystal clear audio. The FM, and bluetooth sound quality are impeccable. I live in a radio remote area, yet the tuning is remarkably sensitive and has extremely nice separation of stations(rejection). Tuning dial is accurate on all frequencies, and works very smoothly. The radio has a overall feeling of quality, fit and finish are flawless. A inexpensive radio that performs better than my larger, expensive radios.

It worked for 2 days. During that time it burned up a USB charger. It still works occasionally works using AAA batteries, but it i hit pr miss when you tuen it on. You can hear the station, very very faintly on full volume. It will sometimes begin working at an audible volume level. Don’t waste your time with this radio

What an impressive radio. I bought one, was so impressed with it that I bought two more. The build quality and ergonomic design is extremely nice. The am and fm sensitivity and selectivity is really very nice. Shortwave reception is better than average. This radio, overall, has qualities that exceed those of some of my far more expensive radios. I highly recommend this radio.
